First 2 weeks
The first 2 weeks went a little something like this...
Nana stayed with us the first week...so thankful for the extra help...she played with Caden a lot, I'm sure he probably wore her out, but he loved every minute of it.

Caden recently told Daddy that he "doesn't like you when you cry" but he has been a very good big brother, adjusting well, and is always worried about where you are at and what you are doing.

You have grown almost an inch and a half in 2 weeks!
* Umbilical cord fell off and circumcision has healed
* Finally gave up trying to squeeze you into the newborn diapers and moved you to a size 1, gave the rest of the nb diapers to a friend
* Put away the newborn clothes :( 0-3months just fits better
* You make a lot of noises...snorts, grunts, snores, sneezes, farts
* Wiggle worm
* Belly sleeper (just like your brother)
* Eats every 2.5-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night

5:00 pm - The doctor thought the baby was getting too big, so we went to the hospital on Sunday night, Father's day, to be induced. I was already 2cm and 60% so the balloon part didn't take too long, then we tried to get some sleep. (yeah right...who gets sleep on a L&D bed?)
side note - Even though an induction was not my first choice, I also did not want the baby to be too big to deliver. It ended up working out great to plan for Caden so we didn't have to call one of our friends in the middle of the night and drop him off. My parents came over to take care of him while we were in the hospital.

4:00 am - I get placed back on the monitors and an IV is started
4:30 am - Pitocin is started
8:30 am - I am having contractions but they don't hurt, they feel the same as what I had been having off and on all week just starting to get a little more consistent. I make Jimmy go get something to eat for breakfast. I am starving but not allowed to have anything. I didn't know how long this was going to take so I didn't want him to be starving too.
9:30 am - Nurse let me have a break from the monitors so that I could get up and walk around. We walked around the small U-shaped hallway for a little while (my backside was very grateful for the break).
10:15ish am - Dr came in to break my water
11:15 am - Baby's heart rate is dropping so the nurse is getting me to lay in different positions to help the baby. Contractions are definitely stronger now and uncomfortable. We are able to stabilize the baby's heart rate.
11:25 am - Nurse checks to see where I am at and finds me at 5 almost 6cm. Yay! I can get an epidural!
11:45 am - Anesthesiologist gets there and starts talking about all the risks involved and asking health questions while he is getting set up. Do you think they realize that we are in so much pain that we are not comprehending anything they are saying? That's why the nurse has us sign the paper when we first get there. At one point, he asked me a question two or three times and I wasn't answering so finally Jimmy told him I was in the middle of a contraction. He finally gets the catheter in and starts giving me medicine.
12:05 pm - Still feeling contractions but not nearly as bad as before. I tell the nurse I am feeling pressure so she checks me. I am 7cm.
12:10 pm - I tell the nurse I am feeling even more pressure than I was a few minutes ago. She checks me again and I am 10cm and ready to have a baby. She has me do a practice push but as soon as I start to push she tells me to stop because the baby's head is right there and that he has a lot of hair. She goes to call the Dr and tells me not to push.
12:20 pm - Dr gets there and 3 pushes later Noah is born at 12:24pm! Dr is amazed to see that he had a knot in his umbilical cord. It obviously did not affect him at all because when Jimmy came back with him from the nursery after being weighed and measured, he told me he was 10lbs. 3oz. and 22 1/2 in. long!
Noah was born with a head full of dark hair and very long nails. He had some bruising so he looked a little purple and swollen but that went away within a couple days.

Caden
A few notes to remember about you and who you are before your baby brother becomes apart of our family.
* You are 2 years and 7 months old, about 30 lbs. and about 38 in. tall
* Books are one of your favorite things. We always read a couple before nap and bed time but often times we read through out the day as well. Sometimes you sit in your room quietly for quite awhile and read them to yourself.
* Your memory amazes me! I don't have to read some of your books because you can read them to me, almost word for word. You will also randomly tell us about something we did months ago
* You LOVE to sing. You sing all the time, but especially when we are eating. (which makes it difficult to teach you not to talk with food in your mouth!)
* When sleeping, you have to have all of your stuffed animals on your bed with you
* You love animals and you love to know what noise the animal makes. Not so interested in bugs however. You say "I no like bugs" and we stomp on the ants outside.
* You love to play with cars, trucks, tractors, trains, tools, animals...
* You know your colors, shapes and ABC's. You are doing really good at being able to recognize some of your letters and you can almost count to 20 (you skip 14 and forget to say 20)
* Playing in water is so much fun, whether it's in the bath, sprinkler, water table, slip n slide or pool. You are not afraid of getting water in your face.
* You are not a daredevil. A lot of times we have to make you do something the first time even if you don't want to, but after you do it once or twice, you usually love it.
* Watching TV is limited but some of your favorites are Dora, Diego, Wild Kratts, Mickey Mouse, SuperWhy and Dinosaur Train. Cars and The Lion King are your favorite movies.
* You love to snuggle with Mama after you get up from your nap
* You love to play tackle with Daddy
* Whenever we play hide and seek, you have to use the flashlight, even if its the middle of the day
* You still suck on your fingers but we are working on trying to stop that
* You like to help clean...you love to use the broom and when we are dusting you get a wipe and clean a little bit everywhere (toys, couch, wall, tv stand...)
* Whenever someone asks you what your name is, you say Caden Jordan
* You love your friends and going to church
This is only a small list of some of the things I thought of right now. You are such a sweet boy and I know you are going to be the best big brother. Daddy and I love you so much and are so thankful that God gave you to us.

Getting Close
Got to see this sweet baby again through an ultrasound. Pretty soon we will get to meet him in person. :) Trying to wait patiently for that day! I didn't have a late pregnancy ultrasound with Caden so it was interesting to have one this time. The kicks are so much stronger now than they were at the 20 week ultrasound. Whenever I saw him kicking or moving an arm on the screen, I could feel it too! It was almost as if I could look inside my belly by being able to see and feel him at the same time. I had to have an ultrasound at 35 weeks because the Dr. thought he was getting big and wanted a better measurement. She was right! He is measuring in at 3 weeks and 3 days big weighing approximately 8lbs. 1oz. already! (The ultrasound tech said the weight could be +/- 3/4lb.) I am also 1-2 cm dilated. Going to the Dr. every week now so I guess she will keep a close watch to see how big he is getting.
Since we are getting so close to meeting baby Noah (as big brother calls him) we went to the park today to get a few pictures. Mommy and Caden ran around in the grass as Daddy played photographer. Here are a few of those pictures.
